      Mazar-i-Sharif - is one of the four largest airports in Afghanistan, which serves domestic flights as well as international. Mazar-i-Sharif is located nine kilometers east of the city of the same name, and today is one of the most safe and modern airports in the country.

      Mazar-i-Sharif was built in the fifties of the XX century, with the participation of Soviet engineers and designers. The airport has a three-kilometer runway and two terminals: old caters exclusively planes of local airlines, and the new terminal, built in 2013, receives international commercial flights. During the Afghan war, the airport was the base of the armed forces of the USSR, and in modern times it occasionally uses military contingent of NATO.
